Microsoft has launched a new tactic called Microsoft Service Credits for Web Search. All in all it boils down to the following:
- We will give you 25К $ for enrolment
- We will give you 2 -10 $ per machine per year
- You will use Windows Live Search
- You will use IE7
- You will remove any toolbars from your system
The offer is quite tempting right … no argue on that. Just do the math … you have 10000 PC’s, why not get 50 - 60К $ free income. Who’s running away from money. Yeah, but now let’s see what are the downsides. Only IE it just does not sounds well. Yep, but without it you cannot be tracked. And then get stuffed with ads. Naaahhh thanks.
Another valid point is if your employees will object on the matter. They maybe just does not want to be tracked. And what about the other companies, the other search engines. How will they react, only the time will tell, but i feel interesting times coming ahead.
